iPhone alpha version status update

Hi all,

It's been a while since a status update of the native remotunes/iPhone version. So check out the current remotunes/iPhone alpha version screensnapz. There are still features to be implemented but isn't it quite impressive even at the current state...

If you have any comments or feature requests concerning the upcoming iPhone version, feel free to add a comment.

Web site hardware failure

Hi all,

as you may have already noticed, remotunes web site encountered a fatal hardware failure recently. Fortunately, thanks to zfs remotunes version history was not lost.

So, remotunes is finally back! Thanks for patience.

iPhone native client application progress

Hi,

I promised to give you an update of the remotunes iPhone native client application development... so it has been in development only for about a week now and I already have a working prototype thanks to excellent iPhone SDK! I hope to fully finish the native iPhone client application during the next month.

The prototype looks so promising that I can state that remotunes/iPhone will be a massive success!!!

Hi all,

I'm currently evaluating iPhone SDK to implement remotunes client as a native iPhone application. I'll add more information when there's any progress... meanwhile you could hope that there will be Java ME support for iPhone available so the existing remotunes client implementation could be utilized with minor modifications.

Apple TV 2.0 support

Hi,

if you don't already know, it's possible to utilize remotunes with Apple TV 2.0! The trick is to use the "airtunes" like audio streaming [remote speakers] mode of Apple TV in iTunes. This is an ultimate combination!

Hi,

as you have noticed I haven't written to blog recently... anyway there's an explanation, I've been busy with implementing touchscreen support to remotunes. Also I've switched to SonyEricsson SJP-3 as a second development platform.

So now there's a new release 2007-12-27 available for download! Note that the touchscreen support has been tested only using SonyEricsson SJP-3 platform [W960i]. Please remember always to upgrade both client and server applications when you're switching to a new remotunes release.

The implementation of remotunes server Windows XP / Vista version has progressed a lot. In fact it's already in alpha stage and some people are actually testing it already with great success!

I'll add more information soon so please be patient ;)

A remotunes blog including a RSS feed is finally available.

As you may already know remotunes aims to be the ultimate iTunes remote controller application for Mac OS X and Java ME mobile phones :) unlike the most other remote controller applications available, remotunes is a free application.

The "officially" tested mobile phone platforms are listed in the homepage but the application should work fine on every Java ME CLDC 1.1 MIDP 2.0 [or newer] capable mobile phone - if it doesn't, I'll most likely fix it :) So... please add your comment if you have any issues with this very first public release. It would be very nice to have feedback even if you use an "unsupported" mobile phone so possible remaining issues with currently unsupported mobile phone platforms could be fixed.
